How it’s Made

To make this medicinal masterpiece, I start with whole reishi and lion's mane mushroom fruiting bodies. These are always wild, always organic, and always foraged by me to ensure a high-quality product.

The mushrooms are dehydrated, shredded, and macerated in a 190-proof alcohol solution for six weeks to extract ethanol-soluble compounds. After six weeks, the fruiting bodies are pressed and slow-decocted for 24 hours in water to extract water-soluble compounds.

The procedure is done separately by mushroom type since each may appear separately according to the weather and seasons. Once both have been dual-extracted, I combine the resulting solutions in a 50/50 blend. 

How to Use

Begin with a few drops to see how well you tolerate the tincture. If you have no negative effects it is safe to begin a small dose of 1-2 ml per day. Over time, you may want to increase this dose depending on your body weight and how well it works for you.

How It Works

The relaxing scent of lavender has been proven to reduce feelings of stress, anxiety, and depression. It can help in moments of fear and panic, or put you to sleep at night when you’re tossing and turning.

Shake well before using. This blend is all-natural and contains no emulsifiers. That means they will separate in the bottle, since each type of oil has a separate density. Shaking ensures even distribution of each oil, so you get a balanced set of properties. 

Rub the roller ball on the insides of your wrists, behind your ears, or anywhere else you desire the scent. Make sure to breathe it in a bit since the smell is delightful and very relaxing!

Usnea has a slew of properties that can benefit us. It contains coveted usnic acid and a variety of polyphenols to help us fight off disease, reduce inflammation and oxidative stress, regulate the immune system, and even control blood sugar and weight.

Usnea is a powerful antiseptic, styptic, antimicrobial, antiviral, and anti-inflammatory agent. It speeds up wound healing and recovery from various illnesses. 

When you’re sick (or trying to avoid getting sick), usnea tincture is one of the best to add to your daily regimen. 

HOW TO USE 

At the onset of illness, take 1-2 full dropperfuls 1-2 times per day. 

During flu season, you can take half a milliliter daily as a preventative. 

It is important to note that pure usnic acid is toxic at high levels. While it is unlikely that tinctured usnea will cause toxicity, there is some level of risk involved. 

Because of this, it is important not to take usnea if you are pregnant, breastfeeding, elderly, immunocompromised, or have liver disease. Always use tinctures under the direction of a physician and understand the risks before you begin.

Foraged and Packed in Mountain Home, Arkansas: 7/25/2024

These chanterelles are the first of the Ozark summertime harvest for the 2024 season. Each specimen is foraged and picked by hand, then cleaned meticulously to remove dirt and debris before being dehydrated. 

Chanterelle mushrooms are coveted for their unique flavor profile. Richly umami and delicately fruity with a hint of earthen nuttiness, Cantharellus species are a summertime prize we wait for all year long. 

When dehydrated, these flamboyantly yellow fungi mellow out to a beautiful burnt sienna. They become a perfect companion in meaty slow-roasts, stews, stir-fries, omelets, and more. 

Because of their apricot and peachlike taste, curious and brazen chefs may add them to sweeter dishes like pastries, ice creams, and infused liqueurs. Those with savory preferences might branch out to finishing salts and dry rubs.  

TO REHYDRATE

To rehydrate, soak dried chanterelles in warm water for 15-20 minutes. Then, add to your dish of choice. 

If you will be adding to a soup, stew, or liquid-based dish, you do not need to rehydrate the mushrooms separately. Instead, just add them to the dish.

When rehydrating chanterelles in water, the water will turn a golden-brown color and retain a delicious umami flavor. You can reserve this water for soups and stews. 

Please note that these mushrooms have NOT been submerged in water prior to being dried, and may retain some grit and/or debris. This can be removed by rinsing or swishing the dried chanterelles in water for a few moments before adding to dishes or soaking to rehydrate. 

Our dehydrated chanterelles are dried fresh and should be cooked prior to consumption.

Shake well before use. Since this is an all-natural product without emulsifiers, the oils are prone to separate out by weight. Shaking the bottle mixes them together again and ensures you get a healthy dose of each active ingredient. 

Apply 1-3 ml twice daily to scalp, hair, nails, or cuticles, depending on where your issue lies.

Important Note for Use with Hair: Because this tonic is castor-based, it can be thick and difficult to spread through hair. Furthermore, castor oil is a humectant that seals in moisture. In light of these two issues, it is wise to apply castor oil when hair is damp. 

Massage the oil into your scalp, coating strands evenly throughout the length of your hair. 
You can leave this oil in all day, or use it as a prewash for 30-60 minutes.

Dutchman’s Pipe, also known as Pine Sap or False Beech Drops, is a close cousin to the more commonly-used Ghost Pipe (Monotropa uniflora). 

Like its cousin, Dutchman’s Pipe is a powerful nervine. It raises pain tolerance levels and may calm an active, panicky, or overstimulated mind. 

Dutchman’s Pipe may be used for acute pain, panic attacks, anxiety, extreme insomnia, or overwhelm on psychic journeys. 

Dutchman’s Pipe is a dream enhancer. Use it in the facilitation of vivid, pleasant, or lucid dreams in whatever manner you practice. 

HOW TO USE

If Ghost Pipe is understudied in scientific communities, Dutchman’s pipe is doubly so. Because of this, dosages should start small to mitigate the potential risk of toxicity.

Begin with three drops at the onset of resistant pain, panic, or overwhelm in psychic journeys. Increase the dose at half-hour intervals as needed. For dreaming, administer half a milliliter at bedtime. Increase dose as needed the following night.

Some sediment or clouding may occur in any tincture. This is a result of various medicinal compounds and is normal.

To make this medicine, I visit known patches on my property appearing in late May or early June. I choose patches with over a dozen flowers and harvest no more than three from a single patch, taking the aerial part of the plant and 1-2 roots.

As soon as they are cut, I place the pipes in 190-proof grain alcohol for transport back to the homestead. I add water at 30-40%, leave the mixture to tincture for six weeks, then press and bottle it.

To make this medicinal masterpiece, I start with lion's mane mushroom fruiting bodies. These are always wild, always organic, and always foraged by me to ensure a high-quality product.

The lion’s mane is dehydrated, shredded, and macerated in a 190-proof alcohol solution for six weeks to extract ethanol-soluble compounds. After six weeks, the fruiting bodies are pressed and slow-decocted for 24 hours in water to extract water-soluble compounds.

This dual-extraction process is paramount to success with the product.
