I came to my obsession with mushrooms and wildfoods through exploration in the design field of brownfield remediation and sustainable development. As an architect I was interested in any work being done where fungi offered a functional remedy. This eventually led me into the woods, garden, and kitchens of the chefs and restaurants I most admire. I continue to pursue ways to think conscientiously about the natural world. As a plant-based eater of nearly four decades, the power of plants has always resonated.
