Coming to you straight from the North Woods of Minnesota, responsibly sourced and ethically harvested brown bracket slabs.
Another staple in Eastern Traditional Medicinals- Ganoderma Applanatum. This polypore goes by many names in many regions and cultures. Brown brackets, monkey bench, cinnamon shelf, artist conk, and eskimo punks just to name a few.
In many cultures this polypore is used to treat inflammation, upset stomach, and mouth sores such as ulcers and canker sores.
Now to state the obvious, I am not a doctor. I can NOT and will NOT make dosing recommendations on this or any other wild foraged item. I can however tell you that I won't sell anything that I haven't tried myself.
I tried a small slab of this in a hot tea. I had a scratchy throat and a bit of an upset stomach from a sinus funky that was going around this past winter. I can see why it is used to treat an upset stomach. One word- bitter. The tea was extremely bitter and slightly acidic in flavor. I added honey and a bit of shaved ginger to make the tea taste like tea rather than an old medicine bottle. It certainly knocked the scratchy throat out right away. That is just my personal observation though. Take it for what you may.
