Available in convenient 1-pound increments, with 1 gallon equivalent to 5 lbs. Each pound contains approximately 2 1/2 cups-3 cups of Fresh Huckleberries, including their delectable juice. Rest assured, the berries are shipped at the peak of ripeness, resulting in some juice in the bag. Simply strain the juice to use as desired. Huckleberries boast a delightful combination of sweetness and tartness, with coastal varieties being much more tart and smaller in size. The berries' sizes and colors may vary based on their region of origin. A customer recommended that you roll your huckleberries gently between 2 terry cloths to remove the stems.

These marvelous huckleberries find their way into an array of delightful treats, such as cobblers, shakes, and ice cream, among many others. They remain our cherished favorite berries. Please note that your huckleberries may arrive slightly warm, which doesn't impact their quality; simply refrigerate them upon receipt. To ensure the best taste, kindly use them within 5 days or freeze them for later enjoyment.

While there may be tiny stems, we regret that their removal is a challenging task due to the berries' delicate nature. However, these soft stems do not affect the berries' quality when used in culinary creations. If you happen to notice any debris, a gentle rinse in a strainer will suffice. We strive to clean them as thoroughly as possible while preserving their quality, as the more processing they undergo, the lower the quality becomes.

For freezing, arrange the berries on a cookie sheet and freeze them before transferring to a freezer bag or a food saver bag. Although they may clump, a soft mallet can easily separate them. We recommend freezing them in small batches to save you from breaking them apart later. When defrosting, simply place the bag in the refrigerator for a day. The juice, after straining through a paper towel, coffee filter, or tightly woven cloth, can be used as a delightful addition to your recipes.

As if their exceptional taste wasn't enough, huckleberries offer an array of health benefits. They are associated with cholesterol reduction, protection against heart diseases, muscular degeneration, glaucoma, varicose veins, and peptic ulcers. Rich in vitamins C, A, and B, huckleberries support the immune system, cardiovascular health, and promote a healthy metabolism, reducing the risk of stroke. Additionally, they help combat macular degeneration, viruses, bacteria, and contribute to iron-rich blood cells, combatting fatigue. The high potassium content ensures proper nerve and muscle function while regulating water balance and waste elimination. Savor these marvelous coastal berries and embrace their natural goodness.

Oregon Mushrooms has been sharing our passion for mushrooms with others via the Internet since our first eBay sale back in 1999. We started out smaller with a focus on high quality dried morel mushrooms but soon customers began asking after the availability of other types of mushrooms. As a result of this kind of demand, we've since expanded our high-quality inventory to offer a variety of dried and fresh seasonal and cultivated mushrooms as well as unique mushroom-related specialty and gift items, such as black truffle oil and white truffle oil and truffle butter and truffle sea salt. All of our products are GMO Free! We do not believe in selling anything that is genetically modified. We also sell berries and salts.
