Mad Spice Company is owned and operated by Matthew and Laura Amato. ​Matthew and Laura met in 2016 while in graduate school at Tufts University in Medford Massachusetts. ​

Matthew was born and raised in Revere, Massachusetts and is a proud graduate of the University of Texas at Austin.

Matthew first arrived in Madagascar in 2011 as a Peace Corps Volunteer in the SAVA region. There he worked in the field of environmental education and helped farmers diversify their incomes through the propagation of various cash crops. Matthew soon found out that Madagascar Vanilla Beans were king in the SAVA region and focused much of his time and energy helping vanilla farmers grow and market this wonderful product.

Now it is Matthew and Laura's goal to bring the flavors, fragrances and wonderful spices of Madagascar to your front door. Specializing in Madagascar Vanilla Beans, Matthew and Laura wish to spread the flavors and fragrances of Madagascar throughout the United States.

Mad Spice Company could not exist without the hard work and dedication of the many vanilla farmers of Madagascar. That is why Matthew makes it a priority to work and source directly from the farmers who grow the unique Madagascar Vanilla Beans that are enjoyed around the world.
