This lupine seed blend is a fantastic mix of wild Minnesota lupine and two tone lupine that were nursery cultivated. I have had both in my garden for roughly 20 years now. Each year the bees work their magic and cross pollinate the flowers, so each year the colors change a bit.

You will receive 200 seeds per lot. The colors you receive will be random from last years harvest. You can expect to see multiple color blossoms from these seeds. You will see some 2 tone lupine and some single color. Some of the colors include white, yellow, light pink, fuchsia, 3 different shades of purple, cranberry, and salmon. The two tone blossoms can white & pink, white & purple, white & yellow, dark purple & yellow, fuchsia & yellow, light & dark purple, cranberry & salmon, or many other combinations thanks to the bees!

For planting, here is what you need to know:

These seeds should be planted close to the surface. Plant the seeds 1/2" - 1" under loose soil.

I suggest planting them in groups of 3 or 4 seeds as this will make a full, bushy plant with many blooms.

Lupine like the sun and shade both making them an optimal choice for many areas. Keep in mind that if your lupine is in full sun it will require extra water in the evenings. Partial sun is much preferred.

Plant in the early Spring and you should see flower cones the very first year! After the bloom has died off the flower will produce seed pods. You can either pop them when they start to blacken (to collect seeds and plant lupine elsewhere) or let them dry and pop in the sun. This will help new lupine grow and spread in your garden.

The happier your lupine is, the bigger your plant will be. Large happy plants can produce up to 25 flower rods at a time!

I don't recommend starting these little guys indoors. They like a tight root ball, and do not do well being repotted or disturbed. I want you to have the best experience possible!
