Lion's mane is difficult to find in my part of the Hoosier state, so I have decided to supplement my wild found mushrooms (sold separately) with my first cultivated offering. This cultivated Lion's Mane is quickly harvested, broken into small pieces and dried to ensure quality. Only pieces of the fruiting body are harvested.

These beautiful and fragrant Black Raspberry leaves are sustainably hand-picked in small batches from public and private land far away from crop fields or areas that may come into contact with any pollutants. Only the best-looking leaves with no physical defects are taken from the first-year canes or second year canes if the plant has yet to flower. This ensures that the leaves are of the highest quality and potency. The leaves are then rinsed, dried, and stored in an air-tight container in a cool dry place.

A member of the Rose family, the Black Raspberry can be tricky to harvest without getting stuck.  provides Black Raspberry provides vitamins B & C and a number of minerals Magnesium, Zinc, Phosphorus and Iron. 

Black raspberry leaves are rich with Polyphenols, which act as antioxidants in the body.

These beautiful and soft leaves are hand-picked with care (only 2-3 per plant) to allow the plant to continue its life cycle. They are then immediately rinsed and hung to dry in herb drying baskets. After they are dry, they are stored in as large pieces as possible. Once your order is placed, I lightly chop the leaves and package them to be shipped.

Mullein is a biennial plant, meaning that it has a 2-year life cycle. The first year it presents itself as a basal rosette only. The second year it starts as a basal rosette but then sends up a spectacularly large yellow flower stalk.

These leaves are harvested during the first year or early the second year before the flower stalk emerges, as that is when the leaves contain all of the plant's energy.

These beautiful polypores start appearing in Spring around the same time as Morels and continue fruiting until warmer weather takes over for the Summer. It is lovingly referred to as the "Consolation Mushroom" by Morel hunters. 

After these are lovingly harvested, they are immediately rinsed, sliced thin, and dehydrated. After dehydration, they are stored in an airtight container until they are packaged the ship.

Alliums

A Hoosierland treasure, Ramps are a delicious wild substitute for store-bought leeks and/or onions. These are sold with the bulbs intact. As with all of my offerings, extra care is taken as to not over harvest and respect its habitat. 

These are harvested to order to ensure that you receive the freshest produce possible. 

*Note: these will not be rinsed, as rinsing will significantly shorten the shelf life *

The bunches are then wrapped in damp paper towels and placed in a large zip sealed bag for transit.

One of the early arrivals in Spring, this Purple Deadnettle is sustainably hand-picked from several different colonies to ensure that each one continues to thrive. It is immediately quickly rinsed and laid out to dry. Once it is fully dried, it is stored in an air-tight container until it is shipped to you!

Wild Dried Purple Dead Nettle (Lamium purpureum) Tops

This beautiful Indiana Ganoderma is also commonly referred to as Artist Conk. It is known in Japan as kofuki-saru-no-koshikake which translates to "powder-covered monkey's bench". This makes reference to its bracket-like fruiting body looking like a small shelf as it grows from its woody host.

If collected and kept whole, the underside can be scratched and be used for making rustic etched artwork! Ours is cleaned, cut into smaller pieces and dried for tea. As always, great care is taken to ensure that this lovely mushroom is foraged in a respectable and sustainable manner.

Ganoderma applanatum has been used in Eastern medicine for thousands of years to treat rheumatic tuberculosis and even esophageal cancer. 
It is also commonly used to help soothe indigestion, relieve pain and reduce phlegm. Further studies have shown that its medicinal qualities also include anti-tumor, anti-oxidation and as a regulator for body immunity.

This beautiful Birch Polypore comes from the beautiful state of Pennsylvania. I harvest these when visiting my family's farm. As always, I only take a small portion of what is present when I go foraging to ensure that these amazingly versatile fungi are able to flourish. 

Once cleaned, these are then cut into cubes and dried. After drying, they are stored in an airtight container in a cool, dry place.

This amazing mushroom has been used for over 10,000 years. Otzi the iceman was found with this in his possession! 

It can be used for myriad applications such as an anti-inflammatory, anti-viral, general immune support, and even treatment of digestive issues such as parasites (see the "How do you use it" section below).

These Hoosier Wood Ear are wild foraged from many plots of both private and public land. As with all of our foraged products, sustainability is a priority; there are always some left behind. Only the healthiest pieces from the most favorable environments are taken.

Barberry is a thorny shrub with small, oval leaves and flowers ripening into oblong, red berries. The berries hand from the underside of the stems, often staying attached through the winter.

Latin Name: Berberis thunbergii 
Common Name: Japanese Barberry 

This handcrafted tincture starts with fresh Japanese Barberry sustainably harvested from a chemical free environment. The tincture is macerated in small batches to ensure the best quality. This is made from all parts of the Barberry plant (root, berries and stems), thus the color may vary depending on the number of berries in the batch. 

After macerating, the tincture is then double filtered to remove any sediment.

 Description: Yarrow is a flowering perennial, common in North America but native to Europe and Asia. Also called milfoil, its leaves are fern-like in appearance. Very delicate, the leaves resemble feathers. Yarrow grows stalks during the summer months. During dry years, stalk growth may be stunted, only growing 12-24 inches. Clusters of tiny white flowers grow atop the stalks, emitting a distinctive and characteristic aroma.

In addition to its ability to staunch bleeding, yarrow contains beneficial antibacterial and antimicrobial properties that are also highly beneficial for wound care.

Yarrow Stop Bleed Powder

This wild harvested Indiana polypore is lovingly foraged in the late Autumn/early Winter months. Only the edges of this beautiful species are edible, so only the edges are taken. The outer edges are then cut into smaller pieces, dehydrated, and stored in an air-tight container.

Aside from its edibility (most popularly used to make a beefy-flavored broth), Resinous polypore is also a great bioremediator of synthetic dyes so it is great for our environment.

Only pieces of the bark that have already become detached from the trunk of the tree are harvested to ensure that each tree remains unharmed. This tincture is prepared from the fresh (undried) flowering tops of our Hoosier Canadian Goldenrod plants that are sustainable and responsibly harvested on private land that never uses pesticides or any types of chemical treatments. To assure optimal extraction of Goldenrod's bioactive compounds, the uppermost tops of the plants are hand-harvested when just beginning to flower and are immediately macerated in an alcohol solution for 8 weeks.

Goldenrod is a premier ally for seasonal allergies, colds, flu, and urinary tract infections.

This earache oil is handcrafted in small batches using carefully and responsibly foraged Mullein blossoms from right here in the Hoosier state. This can be used on humans and pets to ease ear discomfort.

These bundles are made from 100% Indiana Mugwort. We lovingly harvest this from a public nature preserve nearby. Any stalks that are wilted or do not look to be vibrant, lively, and thriving are not chosen. Only the upper portions of the plants are harvested to ensure that the colonies will continue. These bundles are hand-tied with natural twine and dried. After drying, they are stored in an air-tight container in a cool, dry place.

This beautifully fragrant Indiana Mugwort is sustainably foraged (as always) from a chemical-free environment. The leaves are only harvested prior to the flowering period, so quantities are limited. Once the leaves are rinsed and dried in small batches, they are hand-smashed and stored in an air-tight container until shipment.

Description: Singing Nettle is a plant of the nettle family Urticaceae that grows in full sun forest clearings in eastern and central North America. It has a single or branched stem with opposite leaves, stinging hairs, light green flowers in panicles, and leaves with toothed margins. 

As far as nutrition is concerned, few other plants can match these beauties. They’re packed with iron, calcium, vitamins C, K, A, and B, as well as sodium, potassium, and phosphorus. Nettles are also surprisingly rich in antioxidants such as beta-carotene and lutein, and they have oodles of essential amino acids too!

Body Care

Our small-batch Jewelweed salve starts with locally foraged Hoosier Jewelweed from multiple colonies to ensure that each patch continues to flourish. With its anti-inflammatory and anti-fungal properties, Jewelweed is nature's helper for itchy, irritated skin.
To be mindful of allergies, we do not use any perfumes, dyes, or chemicals in our salve. That said, the color of each tin may vary depending upon the amount of color that is rendered from the Jewelweed during the infusion process.
